Photography Brief

Shown here is a typical Photography Brief that I worked to when shooting on location ar St george's park, home of the FA's football coaching accademy.

I was shooting a selection of photographs for publication on the FA's website highlighting the centre's goal keepers conference and traning event

The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club Conference

 Photography Brief

Background

The Licensed Coaches’ Club Conference takes place at St. George’s Park from the 1-4 December. The purpose of this brief is to identify the photography requirements throughout the conference that will enable us to:

(i)                  Celebrate the success of this year’s conference

(ii)                Promote next year’s conference

(iii)               Raise awareness of the Licensed Coaches’ Club

What’s required?

The FA requires a comprehensive range of images to capture the conference that can be utilise immediately for use in publications, websites and press materials. The FA will retain full copyright and ownership of all images.

Objectives

1.       Drive awareness and attendance for the 2013 conference

2.       To increase membership of the Licensed Coaches’ Club

3.       To support coaches with engaging and rich content, and raising awareness of the Future Game Philosophy

4.       To position St. George’s Park as a coach education centre / base for FA Learning

5.       To inspire the next generation of coaches

Target audience

·         Licensed coaches’ Club Members

·         Current coaches

·         Potential coaches via CFA/ tutors

Format

Images may be utilised in a variety of publications and marketing materials, for example:

·         Websites

·         Online banners/skyscrapers/MPUs

·         Email newsletters

·         Brochures

·         Press, magazine adverts (full and half page) and outdoor

·         Press & PR – provided for use in editorial

·         Pull-up banner stands

·         Exhibition graphics

Please ensure images are available in both landscape and portrait formats. When taking images with people please ensure a variety of options with close ups and also options with people not engulfing the entire shot.

Image style

Photography is a crucial element of the Licensed Coaches’ Club, helping to convey emotions and add impact to written content. Consideration should be given to:

·         Richly textured

·         Good mixture of dynamic coaching/ playing shots as well as more static people meeting people shots

·         Fully diverse

·         Full colour

·         Range from grassroots to elite

·         Showcase the destination and facilities

·         Good selection of portrait and landscape
