I have now decided to venture further into the world of Wedding photography a subject I have toyed with over this past year or so and now feel ready to take the plunge into this field a little deeper
Having photographed a couple of weddings before in the past I now wish to commit myself further into this subject with the view of making some money from my hobby
This will be a joint venture between myself and fellow photographer James Woodings a fellow photographer on this course
We have both photographed weddings before and both have client's wedding's waiting in our diaries which we will be photographing over the next couple of months
The demands of a modern day wedding photographer are quite excessive. The wedding couple want the whole day photographed nowadays from the bride getting ready in the morning to the fist dance at the evening reception. The addition of a second photographer is essential nowadays to record all of the wedding day images over such a long period of time
James and I have would normally hire the second photographer for the day but have now decided to team up and combine our skills and to concentrate in providing a more bespoke wedding photography service
Initially we intend to build a new website to advertise our services which will generate publicity,we will be printing business cards and may even advertise in the local press initially
It is essential that we get our marketing right and quality is of paramount importance
It is very easy for most people just to pick up a decent camera and to take a few weddings shots which would be adequate for the run of the mill wedding, however,we intend to produce a more professional bespoke type of photography that is perhaps not seen very often and may appeal to a niche market. We will be publishing some of this material shortly on our blogs
Over the next few months I will be conducting some market research,visiting wedding fairs and comparing local and national wedding photographers to look at the market, prices and styles
We will be hiring a couple of models for a day shortly as a bride and groom to shoot the essential photo's for our website. The models will have to be experienced and have some kind of knowlegede of wedding photography. We want the images to be top quality and we hope to hire an exclusive venue for the photography to emphasise quality and to express our styles
We intend to approach some of the model agencies advertising on the online that swop their services for a portfolio of images, some of these include "Pure Storm and Model Mayhem
